MyQRCreate

One QR code for iOS and Android

Put a single code on your packaging, poster or business card. Each visitor lands in the right store for their phone, and you can change the links later.

Where each visitor goes

iPhone, iPad, iPod

Your iOS URL

Usually your App Store listing. Used when the visitor's browser identifies itself as an Apple mobile device.

Android

Your Android URL

Usually your Google Play listing. Used when the browser identifies itself as Android.

Everyone else

Your fallback URL

Desktops and any other device, and also iOS or Android visitors if you left that store link blank.

Set it up

  1. 1

Create a free account and start your trial.

  2. 2

Choose the App store type and paste your App Store link, your Google Play link and a fallback web page.

  3. 3

Style the code, download it and use it in print or on screen.

  4. 4

Update any of the three links from your dashboard if your listing changes. The code stays the same.

Tip: make your fallback a simple page with both store badges. It covers desktop scans, tablets that are neither, and anyone whose browser hides its platform.

App download link questions

How does the code know which phone is scanning?

When the short link opens, we read the browser's user-agent text. If it contains iPhone, iPad or iPod it counts as iOS, if it contains Android it counts as Android, and anything else is treated as other.

Do I have to fill in both store links?

No. The fallback link is required, while the iOS and Android links are optional. If you only have an Android app, leave iOS blank and Apple devices will use the fallback, for example a web page.

Is this a static or dynamic code?

Dynamic only. The detection happens on our server when the link is opened, so a static code cannot do it. That also means you can change any of the three links later without reprinting.

Does it send people to the app if it is already installed?

It forwards to the URL you provide. Whether a store link opens the installed app or the store page is decided by the phone, not by this service. Deferred deep linking is not supported.

Can I see how many people scanned on each platform?

The analytics show a device breakdown (mobile, tablet, desktop), and the CSV export includes the operating system for every scan.

What if a desktop user scans or clicks it?

They are sent to your fallback link, so point that at a page that explains your app and lists both stores.
